Fund 17 believes we can empower communities by transforming “hustles” into sustainable livelihoods.
While the entrepreneurial community grows in New Orleans, there are hardworking individuals without the necessary tools to succeed who are at risk of being left behind. Fund 17 believes first, we must empower informal enterprise owners to identify as entrepreneurs and agents of change in their lives and communities. Through our fellowship program, we train highly qualified university students to implement our customized, one-on-one assistance which focuses on the combination of three core values: establishment of healthy business systems, personal goal-setting, and financial empowerment.
OUR THEORY OF CHANGE:
We believe by equipping entrepreneurs with an arsenal of skills and resources, we can build capacity within the informal economy, help transition entrepreneurs’ hard work into sustainable livelihoods, and ultimately take down economic inequality in New Orleans.
